As the tallest mountain in Wales it is a popular challenge for new and experienced walkers. Snowdon is in the beautiful Snowdonia national park in the northern part of Wales. In the following pages readers are provided with some answers to commonly asked questions. As you browse the site you will find out if you are fit enough, what you will need, where to stay, which routes are best and when is the best time to climb Snowdon.

Content is not a comprehensive guide but gives a good overview for first time visitors of what is involved with walking up Snowdon. General information that may be of use to inexperienced walkers thinking of taking on the challenge. If you are an experienced hillwalker this site will probably not be of interest to you.

Look after yourself on Snowdon

Walkers are their own responsibility when out on the hills so please go prepared and go home safe, keep an eye on the weather on the day of the ascent and go prepared for emergencies.
